Mehsana, situated on the Jaipur-Ahmedabad main line of the Western Railway is an Educational centre, and is connected by road and rail with all important towns of Gujarat. The college is situated at a distance of about 2 kilometers to the west of railway station at Mehsana, at the campus of Dudhsagar Dairy, Mehsana.The college is thus ideally situated for study of dairy science subjects and allied sciences and for imparting education in Dairy Technology.

The climate is warm for a major part of the year. In April and May the temperature occasionally rises as high as 46°C. The average annual rainfall of this place is 75 cm and it is almost realized between June and September.

MIDFT has a lush green campus, state-of-the-art infrastructure, fully computerised facilities, an excellent library and modern teaching aids. It is equipped with student hostels, a canteen. lecture halls, seminar rooms, a library, faculty and administrative offices, an auditorium, an executive training and development centre, faculty and staff housing, a dispensary and other support facilities. B. Tech (Dairy Technology) is a residential programme. However, the Executive Director may permit stay outside the hostel in exceptional/genuine cases only.

  1. Library

MIDFT has an excellent library, which supports the teaching and research programmes of the institute. The library services are fully automated. The library subscribes a good number of print journals/periodicals.

  1. I.T. Infrastructure

MIDFT's comprehensive state-of-the-art computer centre caters to its community through an intranet. The intranet provides online services for the effective administration of academic functions. MIDFT has a technology-intensive network, which provides mail, file, and print services on campus. A virtual office has been set up on campus to enable students, faculty, research scholars and staff to share the browser-supported notice boards and exchange of information. Efforts are being made to create a virtual community through a virtual network of member organisations, students, and faculty.
