The mandate of the Department of Dairy Chemistry is to conduct basic and fundamental research on quality control of milk and dairy products. Apart from the B.Tech (Dairy Technology) course offered by the Institute, Department of Dairy Chemistry offers M.Tech and PhD (in service) (Dairy Chemistry) degree courses. Currently, two faculties (1 PhD and 1 M.Tech) are present in the department. Several basic instrument facilities are available at UG and PG laboratory such as UV-VIS Spectrophotometer, Polarimeter, Gel Electrophoresis, Gas-Liquid Chromatography, Gerber centrifuge, Refrigerated centrifuge, pH- and Conductivity Meter, incubators, hot water bath, etc.
