The Mehsana District Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd. was established in 1960 with the vision of ensuring fair returns to milk producers. As a district-level apex body of milk cooperative societies in Mehsana, it plays a vital role in supporting farmers while delivering quality and safe dairy products to consumers.
The Union continues to strengthen the dairy ecosystem by balancing the interests of producers and consumers, ensuring value, quality, and sustainability across the sector.
Born: 3rd July 1923, Manekpur village, Vijapur Taluka.
In its Golden Jubilee year (2010), the Mehsana Union established an Educational and Research Institute under the Dudhsagar Research and Development Association (DURDA). The institute was named in memory of its founder chairman, Shri Mansinhbhai P. Patel, and is known today as the Mansinhbhai Institute of Dairy & Food Technology (MIDFT).
MIDFT was envisioned to create new opportunities for aspiring students through modern dairy education and innovation. The institute offers a B.Tech in Dairy Technology and is affiliated with Kamdhenu University, Gandhinagar. It is also recognized as a center for postgraduate studies, including M.Tech and Ph.D. programs in Dairy Sciences.
MIDFT is a listed member of AISHE (All India Survey on Higher Education), reflecting its commitment to academic excellence and quality education.
